If Thou Canst

The man’s only focus is on Jesus the man and the miracles he’s heard about in the land. He’s solely trusting on Jesus as the man. Yet, Christ who does nothing of Himself but the will of His Father (John 5:30) turns it from Himself to faith in God.

The Field of Treasure

Matthew 13:44 This is a very relatable verse. We can all understand what this would be like. You’re walking around a field and come across a treasure! It’s private land and so you couldn’t just take the treasure. You must go and sell everything you have that you might be able to buy this piece…

Gospel Gardening: Step by Step

Mark 4:26-27 Step 1: Cast seed into the ground. I like the into. Not just throw it out – or broadcasting – but cast it into the ground. Make effort to put it into the soil. What’s the soil? People’s mind and lives. Different kinds of soil takes different kinds of approaches to planting. Sometimes…

Does God’s Will Matter?

The Father hears Jesus’ prayers. We see this very clearly in John 11:41-42, ” 41Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because…

The Righteous Poem

Isaiah 32:17 “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever” This verse is one of those super meaty ones that you can look at and examine yourself to see “if ye be in the faith.” Let’s just break down each word and see how much…

Fight for Me Again

Darts everywhere. From every side. As I conquered one, another would shoot and strike. It was warfare. All day long – I cried out for help – and there seemed to be a quiet moment, then another onslaught! I was absolutely exhausted physically and mentally. In one last plea, I cried out again to God…

A Look at the Providence of God

Wherever you are at this moment in life, it’s happened by the processes and events that He’s ordained and allowed. Every past moment has led to now. The same will be true tonight, tomorrow, next week and in ten years, Lord permitting.

Run Hard to Jesus

It’s a hard pill to swallow that we have to learn a truth from a demon. But Jesus demands worship and praise and honor to the fullest. And all will worship Him.

The Free, The Fish, The Faith

“We’ve been on the road, we’re broke, we’re tired. Now they’re bugging us for this tax and we haven’t even been here. Jesus just said He was going to be killed. How am I going to handle this one? Do I ask Him? Do I ignore it? Do we have to pay it, technically? As long as Jesus pays it there won’t be trouble. That’s what I want.”

Catch for us the foxes!

Admit it. We all get frustrated by the tiniest of things. We let very small things invade our peace with God. Once it invades, it conquers the kingdom. In that moment, you cannot think rationally. You’re rendered unable to discern between God’s will and your will. That is an incredibly dangerous position to be in.
